How Can You Interact With Your Baby?

The Difficulty of Raising a Baby

Interaction is another tool you can use to make your child's development process more efficient. Interaction is important because being interactive plays a crucial role in your baby's language learning process. Language is an important factor your baby will need on the path to knowledge, the mind, and intellectual and social development in general.

The Difficulty of Learning a New Language

Anyone who has tried to learn a new language knows that the process is quite difficult. We adults at least have a language to compare with. But babies have nothing to compare the new concepts they are learning with; everything is new to them. Yet, they seem to learn to speak without any effort. In fact, this effort comes from you; you help your baby create new neural pathways by matching the sounds they hear with new concepts and visual memories they store in their memory, with the funny language you use when talking, which scientists also call "baby talk." When you play with your child, you engage in a two-way interaction using elements of taking turns and making eye contact, which are important for developing their communication skills. So, talking to your baby, playing word games, reading stories... All of these are very important; however, another thing to pay attention to during this process is to keep your baby as far away from the television as possible. Because television is not helpful for a child in this stage of development, as the language used is far too complex; it is even harmful. Raising a baby can be a challenging and exhausting process, but it is also extremely satisfying. Make sure to take breaks from this task and get support! Try to see the world through your baby's eyes. All of this can be of great help in being patient during times when your baby is using all their tricks to drive you crazy.
